I bought this amp brand new less than a year ago and it has already died on me. My entire system was professionally installed and sounded great but for the price of the amp I certainly expected it to last much longer. I will be purchasing the Alpine PDX-5 as the replacement since there is no warranty. I loved the amp but would warn anyone due to it's short life span. The amp was installed in my pickup which is used on weekends, etc. and I never neglected my system like someone younger may have done. Buyer beware!

I couldnt be happier with this amp.Im running 4 infinity 6 3/4 speakers and and infinity 12 inch boxed sub in my trunk.2 of the 6 3/4 in the front doors and two on the rear deck of my toyota corolla.I had to add 2 ground loop isolators to get rid of the whining sound from the alternator also.Im using a kenwood cd player in the dash that is made for the car.Sounds outstanding.I paid less than 1000 dollars for the whole setup which isnt bad for a decent car stereo.

I was worried after purchasing the amp because I read a poor review. Knowing that my daughter wanted a hard-hitting sub, I was worried. However, after listening to her stereo my fears were unwarranted. The stereo sounds great and my daughter is very happy with her system.

I have a kicker 700.5 AMP, pretty good. Find shops selling kicker.'s Very true to the box 5. If you dont want to buy online, simply call your local car audio store and ask them.
- They dont really sell Channel 5 amps at my shop ... ive never seen even the AMP cahnnel 5.
If you try to access the door speaker (Voice) has been around 400-600 watt 4 channel AMP you.
If subs are trying to access AMP Channel 1 (one) around 600-1000 watts of you may.
Why do you want AMP Channel 5? E-mail me if you want to do that.

I am contemplating on going with the Boss Audio GT980 5-Channel Car Amplifier RMS at 4 Ohm's is 80W x 4 and 150 x1. That is about all the information I can find on this Amplifier. I was wondering if any one has any experience with the Amplifier and how it works, or any experience with Boss Audio for that matter. I am not trying to win any compotitions, just want to get better quality and loudness to my music. The RMS values of the GT980 all work with my current spearker and subwoofer set up, but I am nervous about using Boss Audio since I don't know much about the company or anyone else that has used there amps before. have an Alpine CDA-9833 HU with preamps for front, rear, and sub. Alpine SWS-1242D 300rms Sub, Rockford fosgate 6.5", and Type S 6x9's. Are there any other 5-channel amps that would work also?
Most of the times I have installed Boss amps to power anything but subwoofers, I've run into noise issues. Boss is not one of the better quality amplifiers, so it wouldn't be my first recommendation. There are several 5 channel amps out there. Memphis and Autotek are two 5 channel amps from brands that I have had better luck with.
