These are good middle - high tone speakers suitable for Chrysler in dash replacements. They are very stable at 22 watts RMS and handle 50 watt peaks with clarity. For a budget speaker to upgrade standard factory stereo with a decent aftermarket CD player, AM/FM receiver these front speakers will do the job. Pair this setup with the Pyle 6 x 9 quadraxial "blue series" for rear speakers and you will have a good sounding system for the budget minded.

I got these for a 98 Cherokee rear speakers. I put one in and tested it against the factory speakers by adjusting the fade and balance and the Pyle is noticeably quieter than the factory speakers. I'm no audiophile, the sound quality is about the same as the factory speakers in my opinion, just quieter. So if you're looking to replace non working factory speakers, these would be just right for the price. If you want an upgrade in sound you should probably save your $20 and put it toward better speakers. Since these come with the thin red/black wires I plugged one into the home stereo and got tinny sound that lacked the volume of the other speaker. I'd give it fewer stars but the price is so cheap. It's not even worth returning them, maybe I'll use them for something. As soon as I find the stock speaker connector I'm going to put the factory speaker back in and put these on ebay or in a flea market.

At first I was skeptical, reading the many awful reviews these speakers received.. But let me tell you how pleasenetly surprised I was.. They sound GREAT! I have a head unit with 50 watts a channel output.. So ya figure - 25 RMS... They bump just like they should.. Super clear vocals and great MIDS... With a small 4 channel amp I can only imagine they would sound even better.. For the price they are perfect. Even if you are just replacing them with a factory head unit, still the best for the price.. More exspensive, better grade speakers, will def with out a doubt out perform these, but in the same breath - THEY SHOULD. If you are looking for a high end speaker to hook up to a high end system - keep looking, but if you are looking for factory replacements, an upgrade from stock to a better head unit, than these are a great pick.

2011 Kia Optima Hybrid - First Drive Review

The Hyundai Sonata hybrid wrapped in the Kia Optima ’s burlier skin. Like the gas-electric Sonata, the Optima is powered by a 166-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a 40-hp electric motor. Total output is 206 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Although the EPA hasn’t officially rated the Optima hybrid, it should get the same 35 mpg city/40 highway projections as the Sonata.
On the outside, the hybrid looks like most other Optimas, although close inspection reveals numerous aero-related enhancements including flat-faced 16-inch wheels, rocker-panel extensions, a unique grille, revised bumpers, and new head- and taillight lenses. Inside, base Optima hybrids come equipped with power fabric seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as pushbutton start and dual-zone climate controls. Kia’s voice-activated, Microsoft-developed UVO infotainment and communications system is now officially available in the Optima hybrid, but when customers spring for the $5000 Hybrid Premium Technology package, UVO gets bumped in favor of a touchscreen navigation system. That bundle also has an eight-speaker Infinity sound system, a backup camera, leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch wheels, HID headlamps, and other sundry items.

Why would a car speaker have power when not connected to head unit?
Sep 21, 2008 by Andy F2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Speakers not working. All lines are tested voltmeter. Near the speakers was, listed 0. Positives speakers registered with .05 volts when not connected to the head unit. What caused this and how will I change.
If you have the factory Infinity System then your van has a factory amplifier. Chances are you have a bad amplifier. BTW you don't check speakers or speaker wiring by measuring volts you check them by measuring ohms and continuity. They won't have any voltage on them when they are not connected to the radio or an amplifier. Also when you do measure volts don't touch the meter leads with your fingers because your body has voltage in it and will cause your meter to read improperly. The .05 volts you got out of your speaker wire may have actually been coming out of your body and not the wire.
How long will the average car battery last with an average 4 speaker car radio on aux. power with the car off?

Your situation depends on how good your battery is. A good battery running a Stereo and your stock speakers should be good for at least two hours. Your really consuming about a total of 60-Watts if you have the music at full volume. Most headunits dont put out what they claim, especially Sony units. I know I've had plenty. Turn your car on every 30 minutes just to make sure you dont get stranded with a dead battery.
