Newt falls victim to Surrey SkyTrain crime, loses a damn good CD
Apr 20, 2011 | There was a momentary lapse of reason when I walked up to my car door last night, noticed that pile of shattered glass at my feet, and wondered, "Geez, where did that all come from?"
Half a second later I was peering through open air into the front seat of my '93 Mazda Precidia and figuring it out, of course. Some desperate soul had demolished my drivers'-side window and ransacked my vehicle. The first thing I noticed was the empty cubbyhole where I kept my change for parking meters; the second thing was the gaping hole where my Alpine CD player had been. The dude (somehow I doubt it was a woman) had really done a number on the plastic housing that surrounded the stereo system; tore the shit right out of it. He hadn't bothered taking the Petro-Canada points card that lay on the floor mat along with some gas receipts, though. I hope he was ticked when he realized it wasn't a Visa.
Oh yeah—this all happened in the parking lot at the Scott Road SkyTrain station, where Read more »

How do you install an Alpine 9850Ri car cd player?
Jul 13, 2008 by Make it juicy
I buy cd-9850Ri CDE skiing for my girlfriends car (or a diamond cleo renualt dymic or sumthin like that) and I want to install for her to save us money.
Ive heard it pretty straight face, but id like a brief understanding of the connection before the old things out.
This or any effort.
All the latest cars and the standard stereo DIN - just remove the old and new connections. At worst you want to have the adapter from another, such as Halfords about fiver.

No sound from Alpine Car CD player?
Apr 17, 2007 by Randy R
I'm in trouble with my daughter. I was attempting to set the time on her Alpine CD Receiver (#9843) and now have no sound from the speakers. Everything seems to be working, dial lights up and provides information - but no sound. There is no owner's manual and she'll be home from college in a couple weeks - help! Please.
If its a detachable face there should be a small red dot behind the face of the CD player. take a pencil and push the button. It resets all the functions. Your gonna have to reprogram ur radio stations and bass and treble levels but it should work.
