NEWS EDITOR GREG MIGLIORE: I had a decent night in this sporty hybrid, running an errand on the other side of town and then lapping back into work the following day. In sport mode, this is a respectably fun little hatch with tight steering that picks up quickly off center. The power is adequate considering that total output is just 134 hp. There's a nice amount of response through maneuvers via the wheel, and the leather and stitching present well. The engine is a bit raspy, but again, we're talking about a four-banger here.

Normal mode lived up to its name, not really inspiring me either way. In eco setting, things slowed down a bit and the steering is the loosest of the three modes. Power was still adequate. I merged onto a busy expressway in rush hour, but adequate is the best you can say about this unit. Really, it can feel quite slow. The CVT is fine; it's a CVT. I think paddles would make this car much more fun and would help it reach an enthusiast market looking for some interaction. There's a ton of technology going on in here, and the mouse control was different but sort of cool.

2012 Chevy Cruze, Camaro Get Better Mileage

Additional upgrades for the 2012 Cruze include the addition of a passive entry and push-button start system, which is standard on the LTZ trim and optional on the 2LT; an automatic transmission is required for the key system. The 1LT trim now gets standard cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port and steering-wheel-mounted controls.

The 2012 Cruze also loses some features. The 1LT and 2LT trims will no longer have a standard automatic transmission. Instead, they’ll come with a six-speed manual standard. The eight-way-adjustable driver and front passenger seats have been replaced with six-way adjustments (seat bottom tilt has been eliminated). In our review of the model, we were impressed with the level of seat adjustments on the 2011 Cruze. Pricing information on the 2012 Cruze isn’t available at this time.

The navigation option has been replaced with what GM is calling a “lower cost touch-screen navigation,” which features a 7-inch screen and flash memory card; the old system used hard-drive memory. Admittedly, just because the system is lower cost to GM doesn’t mean it’s been cheapened.

How to switch back-up camera from 2008 Nissan Armada to 2004 Nissan Armada?

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the back-up camera from our 2008 Nissan Armada and install it into our 2004 that doesn't have the back-up cam? Same body style of car, and the 2004 has the Nav screen, just not the back-up cam. Ditto for the DVD player "entertainment system"- we want to move that too if possible. Help please! Thanks!

Can I have a Back up camera in my road test car?

I am going to go for my road test soon in New york, on Long island. The car I was to use is a 2007 Nissian Murano, which has a back up camera built into the dash board and cannot be removed or turned off. Will this be allowed for use in the test?
I don't see any literature that prevents you from having a back up camera in the road test vehicle. Just be sure to follow proper backup procedures such as the arm over seat/turning head, and don't rely on the backup camera, and you should be fine.

NY only requires that the test vehicle that you provide is "properly registered, inspected, insured and equipped, and in good working order, including doors and seat belts. The passenger side seat belt must be readily available and clean for the examiner's use." and that you have someone with a valid driver's license who is over age 21 accompany you to the test site with the vehicle.
