2012 Audi A7 Review: Elegant Performer

Automakers seem to have become smitten with the practice of slicing and dicing new-car segments into smaller niches in recent years like so many soft-drink varieties. How else to explain genres like the “four door coupe,” of which the 2012 Audi A7 is its newest member?

For the uninitiated, a four-door coupe is essentially a sedan that adopts a sleek coupe-like roofline to afford a sportier appearance. The Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class was the first model of this ilk, with more recent additions including the Aston Martin Rapide, Volkswagen CC, Acura ZDX and BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo.

Just now arriving at dealerships, the 2012 Audi A7 3.0 TFSI quattro Auto Tiptronic Sedan, as it’s officially – and long-windedly – called, is based on the upcoming next-generation 2012 A6 sedan. While the two models share engines, transmissions and most other components, the A7 distinguishes itself with racier exterior styling, a four-passenger interior and a large hatchback instead of a trunk. While one could argue against the business model of having two largely similar vehicles, the A7 remains a more expressive alternative to the stodgier A6 and could attract a younger – or at least more-youthful – audience.

On Tuesday, an employee with Family Time Furniture, 2501 S. Center St., reported theft by check written on a closed account in the amount of $293.

On Tuesday, Dustin Gene Williams, 1310 N. 7th St., and the House of Compassion, reported the theft of a HC EVO Touch cell phone and a wallet while at 110 N. 11th Ave. Estimated value of loss was $650.

On Tuesday, Dulce M. Gutierrez-Rodriguez, 210 N. 18th St., reported the theft of a Panasonic car stereo from a 2001 Chevy Malibu while parked at Marshalltown High School, 1602 S. 2nd Ave. Estimated value of loss was $200.

On Monday, Lonnell Madison Murphy, 111 W. State St. Apt. #6, reported the theft of a Dynex 42 inch LCD TV, a DVD player, a Sony PS3, a Panasonic CD radio player, miscellaneous CDs and PS3 games, a Bissell vacuum cleaner, a microwave and a Fossil watch from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,620.

On Monday, Hannah Angel Cameron-Cruz, 1306 Emerald Dr., reported the theft of an LG Banter cell phone from her car while parked at her residence. Estimated value of loss was $150.

HELP!!! In car LCD monitor head unit ? Do i need a power source for the LCD/Video ?

I,m looking at this awesome in car head unit for audio but it has a LCD monitor on top of it & has like 10 more wires out the back. I know how to hook up the wires for the radio/audio but what about all the extra wires for the LCD/video what do they hook into? Do I have to buy some other power source?

AM/FM so i wonna know if i can hook that up plus hook up my jvc cd player and i brought a amp 2 12s and a equlizer if i can how can i do it
you can hook all of this up. what you will have to do is hook up the radio regular, then if your radio has some type of input for an auxillary soure, then hook up the audio outputs of the dvd player into that. that's how the sound from the dvd player will play into the speakers. hook the amp up as regular, and the equalizer regular as well. hope this helps.
