Here are the electrical specifications that were shipped with the Schosche USB12V2A Dual-USB Car Charger I received: Power input: 12-24 VDC, 1A Power output: 5 VDC, 2A (1A per port) Which is just what I was hoping for. It sure would be nice if this basic information was published in the product description here on Amazon in the future!

We own several Palm Pre's and wanted to use this dual charger to power them up in our car. Unfortunately this device can't provide sufficient power to charge 2 at once. It can charge one Palm Pre at a time, but can't charge up 2 at a time. If you have cell phones, or devices that need 800-1,000ma each, this charger can't do it. Total power out seems to be about 800ma split between the two USB ports. Other than being weak in the power department, the unit appears to be well constructed, it does fit 2 USB cords comfortably, and has a charge indicator light so you know when its in use.

Just picked up this item from Best Buy today. Had to get a charger for my car because my IPOD interface for my stereo does not charge the 3G IPHONE. :( I was initially going to get the DLO car charger for my 3G IPHONE until the cashier told me of the Scosche USB12V2 Dual USB Car Charger. It sounded ideal since my fiance and I both have a 3G IPHONE and won't have to fight for power when riding together. Ensured that I didn't get that uncompatibility error before leaving Best Buy. Left Best Buy with 80% charge and was fully charged by the time I got home in 20 minutes. Note: Have to use your own supplied Iphone/Ipod USB cable with adapter.

May 20, 2011 | Man pays $1,600, gets empty iPhone boxes 0 comments BY RON SYLVESTER The Wichita EagleThe 20-year-old man opened the bag that he thought contained four iPhones that had been advertised on Craigslist.
He found empty boxes.
He told police that he yelled at the man walking away with his $1,600 in cash. That 29-year-old reached into his waistband, indicated he had a gun and told him to back off.
"Our victim was pretty shaken up by the turn of events," Lt. Doug Nolte of the Wichita police said Thursday.
The incident pointed out the need to be cautious when buying articles from strangers online, police said.
The reported robbery took place at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Walmart at 29th Street and Rock Road.
"This is a situation where someone was intentionally set up," Nolte said.
Online advertising can also leave a trail of information. The 29-year-old had been arrested by 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to jail booking reports.

What it is: Seagate continues to innovate and make storage sexy -- with the GoFlex Satellite, it's another one of those "Why hasn't someone done this before?" moments. The Satellite is a 500GB external hard drive that can wirelessly stream multimedia files (movies, music, photos) to any mobile device (but especially the iPad , iPhone or iPod Touch).
The Satellite has its own Wi-Fi network -- when you connect your iPad (or other device, including Mac, PC or Android device via a Web browser), you can stream media stored on the Satellite to your iPad. This can free up a ton of space on your iPad -- instead of transferring media to the iPad itself, you can keep it on the much larger GoFlex Satellite. If your media library extends past the 64GB capacity of the top-end iPad, the 500GB capacity makes even more sense.
The Wi-Fi connection (it has 802.11n support with about a 150-foot range) also supports streaming for up to three devices. For example, you can watch three different movies simultaneously, making this a great idea for streaming media content in a car (the device comes with a car charger). The drive also comes with a USB 3.0 cable that supports Seagate's GoFlex adapter, which is useful for transferring your media library to the device (you can either drag-and-drop or use Seagate's media syncing software).

Will using a generic aftermarket car charger hurt my iphone 3g?

My question is... should i be worried at all about charging my $200 phone with a $3 generic "Iphone car charger" like the ones sold on ebay and such.
I have heard that the voltage is often too high and there is a risk of over charging which i guess could mess up the phone? anyway... would appreciate your input.
I do not want to risk it ...
- When I first got my iPhone 3G, I too wanted a car charger. So I opted to buy one from this site www.inspiretech.com. The page for the car charger is http://www.inspiretech.com/p-345-iphone- 3g-car-charger.aspx And speaking from my experience, I haven't had any problems with it. With car chargers, you don't want to charge it to full. You use the car charger to give your battery more juice, but you don't want to charge it to capacity. With this car charger I purchased, it has a special chip that prevents it from over charging. So in my opinion, car chargers are great, just don't rely on them to fully charge your phone.
