Surprise! Your GPS Device (Probably) Isn't Spying On You
Jun 03, 2011 | By Christopher Maag
You’re driving around town. Right as you approach a McDonald’s, an advertisement appears on your car’s GPS device, giving you a coupon for a Big Mac. But the coupon isn’t coming from just any Mickey D’s. It’s good only at the McDonald’s you just passed.
Creepy? Maybe. Proof that McDonald’s and your GPS device are secretly spying on you?
Surprisingly, no.
It’s surprising because lately it seems everybody wants to know where you are, all the time. Apple recently landed in the middle of a mid-sized controversy when independent tech experts discovered that iPhones and iPads secretly record their users’ movements. Frustration over companies secretly tracking consumers’ travels across the Internet prompted two senators to introduce competing legislation in recent weeks to create a “Do Not Track” registry for online advertisers, similar to the “Do Not Call” list for telemarketers.

Portable in-car GPS system, what is the best for the money?
Nov 12, 2007 by JB4ME2UC
I plan to buy GPS systems in cars. I really want a good one, but I do not want to just throw; My money to. Any system that I will get the most bang for the buck or not.
TomTom One is one of the best that they work about $ 250 now. Garmin, TomTom and Magellan are the best brand to buy. I have a TomTom One and accurate and reliable. Base models are due to increase in brand-specific features you can not drive up prices.
- For the most "bang for your buck" you have to look at Mio. They are a company that makes GPS systems. They will have the most features for the lowest price. They have some fairly cheap GPS units that will get you a basic GPS plus some features that only more expensive units will have.
One of the models that you could look at is the Mio C310X. It is a really nice unit and works really well. It also has a mp3 player in it which is a plus. It is last years model so i don't know how easy it is for you to find one but they will be a great deal. They used to sell them for around $200-$250.This unit will compare the units in the $ 350 - $ 500, so it is best for the money.
Audit Unit and the new division cycle in June and the highest officer ... i have two offices can not know the officer.
Good luck!
What is the best car GPS system for me to buy?
Aug 23, 2009 by Christi G
I am a traveling nurse, so I go to several different addresses every day. I tend to get lost a lot, and often encounter construction and closed routes. I am looking for a car GPS navigation system, but I have no idea where to even start. The only feature I know for sure that I want to have is some sort of lane guidance. I'm not too concerned about the price, I just want something dependable that will get me un-lost. :)
Garmin is a best gps for car, Garmin has a simple controls - simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, has a turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and more feature.
I suggestion a Garmin nuvi (in a high model) model is a 765T, 775T, 785T, 885T.
765T : has text-to-speech, 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, bluetooth, speed limit Indicator, where am I- where's my car function, multi-destination routing, lane assist, free real-time traffic updates from Navteq, etc.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ELJ ER4?ie=UTF8&tag=garmin.gps.navigator .cheap-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789 &creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0 01ELJER4
885T : has text-to-speech, 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, bluetooth, personal travel assistant, get enhanced MSN direct, send addresses directly from google maps or mapquest, where am I function, etc.
Main feature when buy GPS : text-to-speech, wide screen, bluetooth, (mp3 player-lane assist-personal travel assistant-multi-destination routing-where am I function-Integrated FM receiver with lifetime traffic (have only in advance model or high model)).
- Sounds like you should go to a retail electronics place and have salesperson show you the range of stuff. Look for ease of location entry, recalling a stored location, turn-by-turn directions.
Remember, if it doesn't look like it'll do the job, keep looking.
