I bought this radio because the one in my car completely died. I knew I didn't want to spend lot of money because my car is really old. I wanted something simple that would play CD's and radio. Unfortunately this CD player does not have an anti skip device and constantly scratches and skips and pauses while the car is in motion. I don't understand why any CD player that is going to be inside a moving vehicle would not be equipped to protect the sound quality or integrety of the CD. Im really dissapointed with my purchase. The radio is nothing but static and the sound quality os poor. Overall if you really want something flashy and thats going to give you great sound then I'd say spend the extra money and get something better. If you're just looking for some soound in your car and are not particular then this one is fine....for the time being.

I bought this to replace an older Kenwood CD player. I installed it in my 68 Dodge dart into a specially made holder to match the vintage interior without cutting the dash. The wires were labeled nicely. It works great. Looks good. Only drawback would be that it doesn't have presets for FM. I don't listen to radio all that often so I chose this model becuase in lieu of presets, this one has aux input for ipods. I haven't gotten the cord to try it yet but I'm definitely going to use that option since the mp3 player turns into a big jukebox for your car and you don't have to carry CDs around. It runs into Infinity 6 inch two way speakers in front and 3 way 6by9's in boxes in the back seat floor. Sounds very good even with top down at full throttle through the glasspacks. Make sure the right side of the face is down all the way and then click in the left side when reattaching face since if you don't, the buttons don't work.

Installation -- Did it myself. Bought the wire connectors at Lowes. Matched up the wire colors from the radio to what was in my car and crimped each one. I used the existing casing instead of trying to put in the one that came with the radio. Radio presets -- Despite the product description, this radio does not have presets! At least nothing obvious, which leads me to... Manual -- The documentation is minimal. It doesn't tell you how to operate it, which usually isn't a big deal for basic operation except... Clock -- I didn't think it had a clock but I found it when using the AUX mode. So the clock only displays in AUX mode. Through trial and error I found out how to correct the time (Hold down the EQ button and then press the |-> or <-| buttons.) Radio -- The radio quality is poor, I hear bits of static every few seconds and other stations in the background occasionally. When switching from AM to FM the radio does not remember the previously set station...

Pioneer Wants AppRadio To Fuel Aftermarket Sales
May 25, 2011 | AppRadio, a double-DIN AM/FM RDS head unit, is scheduled to ship at the end of June at a suggested retail of less than $500. Its capacitive touchscreen can be used to control and display selected apps, including Pandora Radio and a cloud-based navigation service.The device, which was demonstrated at a press event, here on Wednesday, will be the first car audio head unit of its kind in the aftermarket or from automakers, the company said. Since no one has any idea how to fix this issue, Bob had the choice to get the same system replaced for only $575, or go out and buy a significantly nicer aftermarket stereo for a lot less money. Hmm, what to do? As the owner of a 2005 Jeep Liberty I have been generally happy with the vehicle. Well, that is up until a few months ago during the winter when my Jeep's battery gave up the ghost.The Jeep came with a stock 6 CD changer with a model name of BRQ. Leave it to Mopar to come up with such an imaginative name. There are also BRK and BRS models to name a few. This had been a pretty decent CD changer up until my battery died and I stopped at a local big box store for a replacement battery. Upon installing the new battery, I noticed that although the AM/FM portion of the radio/changer still worked, I could no longer select "CD" from the menu. It was as though CD functionality was completely erased from the units menu.

How do you unlock the security code on a car radio/CD player?

You need to contact dealership and explained what happened, but will prepare them for cars VIN number and proof of insurance just to not think they stole your car. It occurred to me and has the right answer. They're willing to code.

the same thing happend to me. take it to a dealer and they will unlock it for you.
- It should be in the back of the handbook,if not take it to VW and they will sort it for you.You may find a sticker with it on somewhere in the car or documents.
