WURD Up: Station Uses Towerstream STL

I took over as chief engineer at WURD(AM) in Philadelphia about a year ago. The RF plant was in almost perfect shape; yet in going through the records, I found that the station had gone off air a lot in the previous few years, for up to days at a time. The problems seemed to be with the STL, a 15 kHz analog line leased from the local ILEC, Verizon.

Over the years, the station had tried many things to keep it working, including building new premise phone cables into the transmitter building (twice). The problem with the phone lines was not just with the program circuit; the IDSN, DSL Internet and POTS lines also had failed frequently.

Within a week of my arrival a microburst came through the transmitter site, knocking down two phone poles and breaking the 50-pair cable through which everything ran. We were on the air for over a week with a 500-foot piece of Cat-5 cable run through the parking lot (we are located in Philly’s reconditioning site for Hertz rental cars), and spliced into the broken cable.

I tried to install a wired FM modulator in my Altima, and now the radio won't work at all.?

The car is a 2005 Altima. I completed the wiring, then I plugged the car's antenna into the FM modulator, and then plugged the FM modulator into the cars antenna input. When I went to test nothing happened, no power.

Now, even after removing the FM modulator all together, I still can not get the power back to the radio. All the wiring is as it was, and I checked the main fuse panel and no blown fuses. Any other suggestions besides taking it to the dealer and forking over $$$.
When you disconnect the power from your radio to activate the anti-theft lock code. If you do not have ID, you will need to sell to get it. You will need proof of ownership.

Should I be hearing other FM stations when I attach the wired FM modulator to my Sirius Starmate?

I wired everything together and can hear the Sirius broadcast over the radio (90.1 FM here in Columbus, Ohio), but still hear other FM broadcasts when I switch stations. I expected the switch to shut out all other frequencies and only be able to use the FM radio when the Starmate was off. The gadget did not come with instructions and I don't know if it's a bad unit or if my expectations were off.
The FM Transmitter that you are describing is designed to work like it's own mini radio station, broadcasting a low power FM signal to a radio within approximately 15 feet. Since the transmitter is only designed to broadcast on one specific frequency (usually adjustable) you will only hear the device plugged into the transmitter on that frequency, while still continuing to hear radio stations that are broadcasting on other frequencies.
