First off this is not a Viper 160 its a Ready Remote. If you read the description it states "Directed 24924B", but if your in a hurry like i was you may be disappointed when it arrives. Even though this is not a viper they are made by the same company, and are pretty much the same except cheaper.As for the unit i installed it yesterday in a 06 Mazda 3 with an XpressKit PKALL. The installation went very smoothly, and if you have ever installed a viper or python these install exactly the same. I actually like this remote better than the viper 5101 and 5601 although the plastic feels/looks a little cheaper. Unit does not have the D2D port like the newer viper remote start/alarms do for your Xpresskit module. This is not a big deal you only need to connect a power and ground, but the d2d does save you a few minutes. Unit did not come with a 451m like the 5101 i just installed so if you need one of those for you door locks be aware.My background i installed...

I bought one of these to put in my 99 Malibu and it worked so good my co worker had me purchase one for him. He paid me $60 to install it in his 93 Camry. If your smart and able to do a little research installation of these units are not impossible. For wiring diagrams I often use Bulldog Security's website.The Range on this unit is great. It outperforms high dollar 2 way units other co workers had professionally installed.

So far so good. I bought a few of these from gooddeals. They are as stated. Directed Electronics (maker of viper), but not labeled as one. I've installed a few so far and they all work fine. I had a professional install it. Cost me $200 each. No complaints. Even the Installer thought he was working with a Viper before he read the logo on it. It says 'ready remote'. Great product.

whatever its doing its causing the fuel injectors to cut off.
sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body kept spraying and it stayed running!,.....so how would i go in take the alarm system and car starter out with out Fckin anything up???.... \remember im not stupid/thanks

How to install a remote car starter on an 2007 honda van?
Dec 11, 2009 by Dwaynedoes any one out there know where I can get my hands on an install manual for a used viper 571xv remote starter for my wife's van? i can get one pretty cheap that came out of a volkswagen. the lady said she had it removed because some cars can't have remotes in them. is this true?
Any fuel injected vehicle can have a remote started added. It may not function if improperly installed, but what she said is not true.
